May 18, 2021 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Pioneer United FC as its newest expansion club ahead of the Spring Season.

Based in Anchorage, AK, Pioneer United FC will begin UPSL play in the Northwest Conference Last Fronter Division I. The team will play its UPSL home games at West Anchorage High School (1700 Hillcrest Dr., Anchorage AK 99517).

Mike Ward is President of Pioneer United FC. Laef Eggan and Num Tindle serve as the co-Head Coaches. The club now competes exclusively in the UPSL.

UPSL Commissioner Yan Skwara said, "We are tremendously excited to welcome Pioneer United FC to the UPSL. This is a historic organization in Alaska, with a great coaching staff. The club started with an agreement, and now their men's first team will help us expand the Last Fontier Division. We look forward to working with Pioneer United FC and wish the club the best of luck getting started in the UPSL."

Founded in 2014 when two local teams - Alaska United and Pioneer Bar - combined to form Pioneer United FC, PUFC currently is Alaska's most decorated men's adult team with eight state titles.

"We accept the challenge to play any game against any opponent, and now that means playing in the UPSL's Frontier DIvision," Ward said. "With the UPSL proving its model in Alaska, we were compelled to join because of the level of competition. Our players want to compete against the best teams we can. Playing in the UPSL has made our training sessions more intense, and we think being in the UPSL will help grow the club."

The club will announce its fixture calendar.
